At the mouth of the Cataract Gorge, Penny Royal celebrates the dark and playful past of bushranger Matthew Brady amongst a charming complex of bars, restaurants and a wide range of activities for the whole family!!

The attraction opened in December 1979 and featured interesting products such as a short boat ride, cannons being fired, an interpretive barge ride on how to create gunpowder and radio controlled boats.

At its peak, in 1980-81, the site received a record 4666 visitors in one day. However, during the 1990’s and early 2000’s, due to inconsistent management, the site lost its appeal and was shut for more than eight years.

In 2014 JAC Group headed up by Josef Chromy OAM purchased the site, spent two years transforming it into a modern welcoming tourist complex, adding the cliff adventures and officially opened in April 2016.

HOW TO BOOK YOUR ADVENTURE

During school holidays and summer, the park can be very busy. We recommend pre-booking your adventures to ensure you get spots in the sessions at the time you prefer. During school term, it is often possible to just rock up to the ticket office and book adventures on the spot. If you want to guarantee your times, we always recommend pre-booking.
